Tenerife is in many ways a unique destination. However, a literally unique attraction on this island refers to the Bioclimatic Village, so far the single village of this kind in the entire world. It consists of a group of 25 houses conceived such as to be as environmental-friendly as possible.

Thus, beginning with the materials used for actually building the dwellings, with their architectural structure conceived such as to be as energetically efficient as it gets, and ending with the technologies used for turning them into genuinely inhabitable houses, the dwellings are the result of a project in the context of which several institutions collaborated in order to conceive and to implement the idea of a completely clean human settlement, clean as in based on the consumption of renewable and clean sources of energy (wind, water, sun).

The village is located in south Tenerife. The only part available to the public from this project does not refer to the village proper, but to the Visitors’ Center and to the so-called Ecological Walkway.
