At its origins, this fiesta had a more outstanding religious character, given it is dedicated to a saint figure, patron of animals, amongst others. However, nowadays Fiesta de San Antonio is a fairly secular event with plenty of manifestations focusing on parties drenched in food and drinks, music and shows. It is, however, a fiesta full of Canarian character, and it is held in the town of Arona. Definitely, tourists who visit Tenerife in mid January should not miss it. The fiesta lasts a whole week, and it comes down to an array of party-related manifestations.
